The tandoori prawns and black lentils we enjoy so much at the five-year-old Heritage India (2400 Wisconsin Ave, NW; 202-333-3120) in Glover Park will soon be available in Dupont Circle, where the restaurant’s owner, Sanjeev Tuli, is poised to open a branch with same name at 1337 Connecticut Ave. NW. the offshoot, which replaces Acropolis, will share the same warm palette of the original but also offer a 50-foot-long bar and a 16-seat room for private dining. And the menu will be broadened to include “an Indian version of tapas,” says Tuli. That means salmon-stuffed samosa, calamari presented in a martini glass and Indian-spiced noodle soups, the restaurateur revealed in a sneak preview. The snack-size dishes will be priced between $3.95-$6095. In related news, Tuli is no longer associated with the former Heritage India in Bethesda, which earlier this month was renamed Passage to India (4931 Cordell Ave.; 301-656-3373).
